Finally finished up the Dynaflite Spit Mk1 I framed up back in '98 then let it set for a few yrs!

I sheeted the wings, covered it with Nelson Litefab, and painted with Latex paint with Nelson flat clear over the top to fuel proof it.

Powered by an RCG 26HPS turning a 17x8. Century Jet retracts they made for the model. 12.5lbs gross.

We'll see how she flies this weekend.

Nice! I flew mine for 15 years until two weeks ago the engine seized in flight. Had a decent gear up landing in the rough. Tore the firewall off, though not sure if that happened when the engine threw a rod at full throttle or upon the landing

OMG! Got hold of one of these kits recently! Some parts was missing like the fuselage formers and sides, but the rest seems to be in there. Gave a total of approx $140, so think this was a great deal! No problem to cut out the missing parts. I have a Saito FA125 that might fit for this one, maybe something larger if I can find. Looking forward to start building it I have the .40 size Dynaflite Spit which has been with me for over 25 years, still flying!

Default Cog

I just finished building my Spitfire.
Can anyone please tell me what COG you are flying yours at?

I will post a picture of my completed plane soon. I did mine in a North African or Malta scheme. I put a DLE55 in it. I hoped it would balance with that engine, but it didn't. I'm still 6" back from the leading edge next to the fuselage. Weight is at 16.5lbs so far.

Default Cog

I found a build thread online where someone stated the COG was 4 13/16". I' going to balance mine at about 4 5/8".
Hopefully I will maiden it later this week, and report back on the build threads where I set the COG after some flights and tuning.
