Wondering if an automotive clearcote (like PPG) can be sprayed over the Sig American Flag decals/stickers ? The package does not recommend clearcoating over them ... but maybe Sig is just being cautious because they do not know what type of clearcoats someone may use. Wondering if anyone has tried this ..... if not, I will try a test/sample later this week. Thanks. Bob

Shoudn't be any problem, either with vinyl or decals. Just ensure a light mist is initially applied, allow time to tack and spray the finish coat on.

Oh, forgot my recommendation - is Matrix Systems products available in your area?
For model usage, it spray and finishes identically to the PPG -DBU products - at a lot cheaper cost.

Thanks Nick. Matrix probably is available here, but I am using the Chromabase system (by Dupont). The use of automotive paints is new to me .... and the folks at the local supply shop recommended the Chromabase system. I already sprayed the base coats and they went on great (but I do not know how they would compare to the Matrix systems). Hope to spray the clear tomorrow. Thanks. Bob

Nick, When I got home I checked the paints I purchased. The clearcoat they gave me was actually the Matrix system you mentioned (all I could recall earlier was the name/type of the basecoat which was ChromaBase). Bob
