Fokke, what type of foam do you use to fill the area between the formers?

Do you use a hot knife to trim it down?

Or just a hobby knife and sandpaper?

As I saw is a TOP secret

I'll use something like foam ,but have much glass inside in the material .I will cut it with hobby knife and then sandpaper.

.... and is thiner/gasoline resistant ....

I use small pieces recovered from metal wall insulatons ( those modern technology thin walls having a foam-type core sheeted with waved steel plates ).It's great advantage is it's verry easy to cut and sand.
It's like dense foam but the chemical composition is diferent.

Bill ,the material is steady for acetone and other diluents ,is solid like a balsa and light like foam when I scrub it I can make it lake a glass
dvimi ,what is the name of your material ?

That is very cool. I always thought the Mig-3 looked like a racer not a fighter

Yes Jerry ,this is the reason to like and buiold this airpolane look like racer or old car with long muzzle
The the reason of long nose of Mis 3 is the bog engine ,the same engine like Il 2
