RE: Roamin Research Mig 3 build!!
Maybe a little self-critical Tony. It came out great. I know I've never seen a full scale Russian warbird that didn't have some serious quality control issues...so, hey, you can make it more scale easier!
I'm a little surprised that it came out at 30lbs. A 50cc might be pressed a little, but not too many worries I wouldn't think. I know the Q52 I had would pull it. How far away from flight you think T.?

RE: Roamin Research Mig 3 build!!
Both my A and D version are in about the same stage...connect pushrods, install the nose weight and fuel tanks and batteries is about it. I'm waiting on a 2.4 module and a couple new receivers to do engine tests on both 190''s, while the 109 is just waiting for me to get time to fly her. It's been more time vs. nerves for me so far...until the maiden(s) at least.

ORIGINAL: Ram-bro
anyone know of a god paint that will work on mufflers and the color that would hide it or make it non obtrusive? I need to make that muffler disappear, its ugly.

How about powder coating it? Would not burn off for sure!!!

That is why I said Did you fly it... Ya right now you would need to paint her white, and the camo would work too well in the blizzard conditions that I have in Mn right now.LOL Is it ready to fly just waiting spring thaw? I am hoping to meet you next year, at Owatonna. I dont think I can go to too many other Warbird events, financially, but I am hoping.

Yes I did and my WWI Fokker D VII didnt make it back the way I left home. I lost my elevator and 1/2 rekitted it and my 109 wasn't right and didn't fly it. I hope to have a gaggle ready next year. Got my fingers crossed. It would be nice to go to Fondulac or Colorado but we will see.

RE: Roamin Research Mig 3 build!!
I have used products similar to this on automobile cast iron manifolds. It lasts for years before burning off. After applying it, you can leave it flat dull grey or rub it with news paper to give it a slight luster but still very dull grey. The photograph in the web page header has a red tint. The product is not red.

Here is a link to my Mig 3 flying at warbirds over the rockies this last summer. I did get to chase the winter camo stukas some. One advantage I have is this is my home field (luckily) so I am used to landing there. I think you will see how easy mine is to fly, but it is very sport scale.

- forlorn jealousy - I believe mine is still snailin' along.
The video is a refreshing treat - as this is the FIRST MIG 3 I have ever seen in flight. Looks great. Got more vids?
For real now? 40# with a DL55???

RE: Roamin Research Mig 3 build!!
So now into summer has the Mig flown?
I had a set of these plans about 15 years ago I used to make a reduced size 54" span warbird racer,
I sold the plans to someone here on RCU over 10 years back, I think it was a guy who was cutting kits from Michigan,
Anyone willing to sell or know where I can get a set of these plans again?
