l just purchased a TopFlite Spitfire kit. Any comments on engine and muffler choices? Is OS61FX enough power
and if not what choices do you suggest. Also how does a Saito 91 4 stroke rate against the OS? l have had a
GP P51 with a OS46SF for 5 years and it's always been a great performer, no engine problems, but there seems to be a lot of interest in 4 strokes with this type of kit for a more realistic sound. Thanks

'Scale buffs' will tell you to always go with a 4-stroke, because of the sound, and more realistic prop diameter (in relation to the plane) Also, you don't have a huge muffler can sticking out the side!

Look into the RCV engines as well, cnsidering you won't have a 'cylinder head' sticking though the cowl.

You will need minimum of a 91 four stroke or 75 two stroke. The Spit builds a lot heavier than the kit would have you believe....glass and paint it, and it gets even heavier.

The good news is that it flies great even at the greater weight....

As far as the 91's go, I have both the OS and the Saito....both run great and I could not choose one over the other. The only difference is that the OS is slightly heavier (which is handy where nose weight is required such as the TF Spit.)
