Trying to decide between the F4U Corsair and the P-51D
Looking to purchase my first plane. Ihave been flying a friends P-51D and very happy with how it flies. It was my first aileron plane to fly.
Trying to decide between the the F4U Corsair and the P-51D.

Ihave thought about buying the F4Uso we could have different planes to fly but I don't want to get it and then be really dissapointed. Can anyone who has flown both give some feedback on whether the F4U was as "fun" as the P-51D to fly in terms of general handling and flight characteristics (speed, manuverability, etc.)
Thanks in advance.

Do neither. Wait a few more weeks and get the Parkzone Bf 109. By far one of the best looking foamies out there. Do something different.
If there are two planes everyone has is the Mustang and Corsair (then the Spitfire and the Thunderbolt).

the mustang is sleek and stylish and the Corsair is big and tough . The first time i saw a real Corsair up close
i was amazed at how high it sits . One of the things about building the corsair is youve got that big cowl and engine size is
not as critical as far as in inside the cowl room.

So this will be your first aileron plane for yourself?
Just get the cheaper of the two, or the one you think looks the coolest,,, it doesnt matter,, this will not be your last plane believe me.
You will brobably crash it a few times and learn a lot and then go onto another.
Have fun,
Brad

RE: Trying to decide between the F4U Corsair and the P-51D
Looks can be decieveing. The BF109 is a great looking plane but no where near the P-51BL or the F4U Corsair. Its almost impossible to land on a grass field without it nosing over. It hooks hard to the left on take off (be ready on the right aileron and rudder!!) The plane is a dog in the air unless you buy the 2 blade prop and spinner that Parkzone sells for it. Hmmm...I wonder why they came out with that upgrade?? In my opinion the best flying foamie that I have ever flown, and I flew alot of the them, is the Parkzone P-51BL. Worth every penny of the money they charge for it. The plane with go exactly where you want it to and do everything short of hovering. Removable landing gear would have been a nice feature like the Corsair has but an excellent flying plane. My suggestion is if your new to flying don't waste your money on the Messerschmidt. you will be kicking yourself in the butt later.
