New Parkzone ME 109G6
Hi All
Although I am doing some home expansion and have not bought much for the last 6 months, I couldn't pass on this little electric foam 109G6 from Parkzone.
Thanks to Scott at Airland Hobbies for the head ups and great service.
I painted the black Tulip red to identify mine from my fellow 109 buddies when we fly together. Not a perfect replica, but that was not the idea.
Pretty nice for what it is. BNF version, 15 minutes and your ready to go if you have charged batts, does come with 3s/1800lipo. You just need a 2.4 transmitter.

Just 2 days ago.
Thanks Todd. Can't take credit for this one. Its like 15 minutes of "snap together" pretty much.
Have yet to fly it. I did see Scott fly his, he can fly very well, so the plane flew well. On the ground, remember its a 109, one may need to get used to the gear.
109 scale flyers know what I mean, but I don't expect any problems. Its light.

I bought this birds and love it !!! Flies with more authority in my opinion than the trojan, but diffreently as that plane is more like a trainer. This on is as tricky as can be expected on the ground, both for TO and landing. I prefer flying mine w/o the landing gear.

Got mine a couple weeks ago. Flys great, forgiving but scale like.(you'll need to know how to use your rudder) As as stated above, it is VERY scale like on the ground. On take off gently advance your throttle and build up speed so your rudder has something to work with... and landings...keep your speed up on landings(likes to come in rather hot=nice scale roll out) and be gentle with the rudder....I ordered the flaps kit, but have not recieved it yet...oh yeah, I would suggest installing some wingtip skids....you'll thank yourself later.
I have not tried flying it without the gear, but I bet it would be nice....I've been thinking of putting in some micro retracts in mine, but have been having so much fun flying it, I have not had the time to think about doing it lol.

RE: New Parkzone ME 109G6
Well I flew mine after around 7 months of not flying anything at all.
Since I have a few scale 109s flying, I expected the ground challenges. Not anything out of the ordinary FOR a 109 on take off. Too much throttle before good airspeed will pull the model to the left hard.
Practice, practice, practice.
A scale like 109 is a bit challenging. But i like a good challenge.
As a first flight, if you fly directly into bit of a head wind, the model will "whether vain' and hold its line easier.
Its a winner.

Just had to reply to this one. My father was a mechanic during the war and frequently worked on the 109. He always referred to them as the ME 109. As a sidenote....he had the " honor " of refueling and cleaning out the cockpit of Adolf Galland's personal bird ONCE. Dad could not believe the amount of cigar butts and crap that was in that cockpit. Talk about being able to chew bubble gum and.......

For reference, we went with "Bf" specifically because we knew everyone would be satisfied. Nobody would complain about "Bf," but if we went with "Me," there would be a small but vocal number of people out there who would complain and create controversy.

Glazer is VERY much correct its either.
Both are correct with the 109.
I have a document from RLM from 1941 that has both Bf 109 and Me 109 mentioned in the same document. Even the RLM couldn't keep it straight. And it really didn't much matter the year.
the shift from Bf to Me DID happen, but didn't happen all that well with the 109, in late July of 1938.
Note that almost all of the data plates inside the 109's had Bf 109 marked on them, not Me 109, with the exception of some that Erla FlgWrk built.

I flew the 109 with flaps-BIG difference! Doesnt land as hot, more scale landings. It was fun before flaps-now its a blast. Very docile, yet still has some go. I love it-no gas or glow mess to deal with, cheaper (by far) than jetA or Kerosene. Think my next jet will be EDF. Electric is pretty darn cool IMO

Anyone else have a problem with the fom tires being very out-of-round? The plastic wheels seem to spin tru but the tire itself is way out of shape. Makes for extremely bumpy taxiing and a very bumpy takeoff roll.

I've noticed that if the plane is left sitting on a hard surface for long, you will see that the tires kinda mush out abit. (they are just foam) They do go back to shape, but it can take a min to do so, depending on the temperature. I put a rag under each tire and it seems to help.
