Default This is ONE TOUGH PILOT!!

Combat over Wright-Patterson AFB was heavy during the "Dawn Patrol" Fly-in, especially on Friday afternoon. In the midst of the melee, Rudolph Berthold was holding his own in his distinctive Fokker D-VII (first photo), when he received a git from below (probably "Archie"). Despite the severity of his wound, he was able to bring his Fokker in for a perfect landing. If you look at the second photo you can see that this is ONE TOUGH HOMBRE!!!

Looks like a clean wound. A little peroxide and duct tape will fix that right up!

Is that the Hangar 9 Fokker?

You know Alan, I always get looks at work when I say "I'm brining the little Fokker to work tomorrow" or "I'm still working on the big Fokker"...

Your comment most assuredly got a chuckle out of me!

It's definately not Hangar 9. This was about 1/3 scale.
