Seagull AT6 Texan 75
I have a Satio 91s looking for a home a the moment, and after looking at the usual spitfire/mustang suspects I came across this [link=http://www.jperkinsdistribution.co.uk/detail.php?JPNO=5500038&activepage=1&Navmain=Aircraft%20-%20ARTF%20&subcatname=ARTF%20-%20Seagull]Seagull AT6 75[/link]
Has anyone had any experience with one of these and is a 91 four stroke really enough to fly it around ??

Ah,
i really don't know...
I wish someone jumps in and post more info and some pictures!
Have you seen the manual ?
They mount the x2 elevator servos and x1 rudder servo at the engine area, under the cowl.
Probably because if they didn't,
they'll come up with a very tail heavy engine.

RE: Seagull AT6 Texan 75
I did not get one in the end. I think it would have been a bit under powered with the 91 , and I would have had to put a tonne of ballast up front as the saito is a light engine. From what I have seen of it a 120 is probably a better match for this airframe.

RE: Seagull AT6 Texan 75
I am building this Seagull 75 AT-6 and I have a DLE-20 I am using for power. I will be more than enough power for this plane. I already have a DLE-20 in a 71" GP Stearman PT-17 and ift fly great at half throttle and weigh's 13.5lbs so with this plan weigh around 9lbs it should do very well. Here is a pic of the plane and the DLE-20. I will be using a SY 16x8 pro that the DLE-20 spins at 8500RPM. 13.5 lbs of thrust

RE: Seagull AT6 Texan 75
I am actually building one with an aerovate 15 cc gas engine.
I would also be interested in knowing how the maiden went.
Goog luck
Superocket aka François
ps : where did you put the elevator and rudder servo ?
I will put them in the fuse

RE: Seagull AT6 Texan 75
I will try and get some video of the maiden this weekend. I removed one elevator servo by making a metal "C" adapter and joined both elevator halves together. I then installed a Hitec 475 servo in the sevo mount in the cowl area. I did cut one of the elevator servo mounts off of the cowl area along with the rudder servo mount. I moved the rudder servo to the fuselage mount and it worked out OK. I hope I was clear enough about what I did. The plane weighs 10.5lbs with the DLE-20. It spin's a SY 16x8 prop at 8500 rpm that produces 13lbs of Thrust. The wing loading will be 33oz so it should fly very well and may be a little hot on landings without flaps[:@]

RE: Seagull AT6 Texan 75
Jim...if you cut the throttle just before the final turn for landing you won't have a problem....
Also the cowl area is big and will slow the airframe.....Pay attention to this.....
