What's a good kit warbird for a Saito .56?
I have a Saito .56 needing a home and like to kit build a war bird this winter.
I would like to find a F4-U, but am open to all ideas. Skill level is not a factor for flying or building.
Any suggestions?

I'd second the World Models P51.. flew one of those on an OS 52fs, one of the nicest flying models I ever had

Look at any of the Kyosho 50 series warbirds. There are many who put a lot larger motor in them but a Saito 56 will fly them wonderfully. All of them fly great and with the printed covering, the scale looks is upped. I have personally built and flown the Hein, P40, Spitfire. My Hein only has a OS 52 in it and it flies with no problem. The P40 has a old Saito 65 in it. The Spit has a Saito 56 in it and also flies great. The 50 series also all have flaps and retracts at a really good price. Quality is also pretty high. Replace the supplied clevis' and that is about it. The stock mechanicals have held up for me on all my Kyosho's and I fly off grass. I have done a couple of build threads on the Hein and P40 either on this site or RC Groups. I the size you're looking for they will give you the most bang for the buck. I think the VQs might be a little big for your 56 you could look at them too. If you really want a corsair you can look around for the discontinued Kyosho Corsair. It will fly with the 56 but it would be better suited for at least a 62 and up. It is a great plane that I feel is the best flying ARF Corsair you can get. Glass fuse, glass wing center section, fully sheeted outboard wing panels, and set up for retracts.

Sorry, brain cramp, I re-read your post and you looking for a kit, not a ARF. Like Gilda Radner used to say " Never Mind! "

Hi. If the Yak-3 offering was for my benefit, thank you. If it was not, thanks anyway. It may be my winter project.

Thanks again for all the ideas! I have a Kyosho Cap 60, and a had the World Models Miss America P-51 w/ OS 46fx, both are a lot of fun. Any thoughts on the Great Planes F4-U? It looks like the fuse sides are flat with a round cowl?
