hmmm perhaps, but the source I got this from says ''the first 262 to be shot down...'' lol.
I agree with respect to the making and emergency landing to avoid getting shot down.
if it didn't get a bullit hit in the air, strafing means just that... not an arial kill. just something
on the ground...
Evil hates me by now I think LOL!

The Me 262 in question was still in the air when it was attacked.

OK, my turn, I guess.
As most warbird buffs know, the B-29 had an auxiliary power unit ("APU," or, more commonly, "putt-putt") to provide electrical power until the no.3 engine was fired up amd, as a reserve, on takeoffs and landings.
What American warbird used an APU to generate all its electricity, all the time? (I'm tempted to ask "why?" as well, but I don't know the answer to that one.)

Nice job UnclJoe! You have the floor.....
The Brewster Buffalo
In 1939, the F2A became the first monoplane fighter aircraft used by the US Navy. In December 1941, it suffered severe losses with both British Commonwealth and Dutch air forces in South East Asia, for reasons unrelated to the basic design. It also saw action with US Marine Corps squadrons at the Battle of Midway. The F2A was derided by some American servicemen as a "flying coffin", due to poor construction and perceptions of its general performance. Despite this reputation, the F2A proved a potent weapon with the Finnish Air Force, against the Soviet Air Forces.

Could be a meatball, The US Naval service had a few aircraft that could carry a nuclear weapon in the late 50/ early 60's along with the AJ Savage,A3J(A5A)Vigilante , they (USN/USMC) had an aircraft which used "LABS" what was/is it.
