What's an Me 108? I've heard of the Me 208 before, but not the Me 108. Do you mean Bf 108? After all the Bf 108 entered service well before the 1938 cut off.

My two favorites and I'm building two giants of them. One is 94" and the other is 124.5". Both Ziroli plans.

The B-17, work horse of the war. Tough and rugged. Second is a toss up, I love the gull wing design of the Corsair but the toughness of the Hellcat cannot be denied.

How can you choose between two? The differences are so vast, bomber or fighter, loved or hated, respected or feared? Too much philosophy. Now the bones: Bipe: MY Stearman with the Satio 325 Radial and My Tripe, DR-1 with the Quadra 42. Fighter, Got to be my P-51D, just has to be, and have a FW-190 on the list to build, something with a Moki radial. My big, dopy bird, loved and respected, as a sub hunter, feared, which is on the build table now, my Fred Novac PBY-5A.
I had to chime in. I love RC, and can't have enough

I swear that half of the favourites so far has been some variant of the FW-190. So how come we don't have any "available" kits from Topflite or Great Planes?!?!?

That would be the P-40 and the wildcat. They were both there when we needed them; at the beginning, and served us well despite thier handicaps. I have built and flown both in .60 size.

It is hard to choose just one isn't it? But it is really interesting what people pick when it's down to two.

Brad, I'm surprised at the Airacobra. I've always heard a lot of negatives about it, what prompted that as one of your top two?

I know what a Bf 108 is, but someone said Me 108.

I did.

http://www.airbum.com/pireps/PirepME-108.html

Actually, calling the Bf -108 (or Me-108, both are correct) Taifun a legend might be overstating the case. If contemporary sources can be believed however, the 108 absolutely did give birth to a legend, the better known Bf-109. Incidentally, just to clear up the confusion: Willi Messerschmitt's company, Bayerische Flugzeugwerke, was renamed Messerschmitt G.m.b.H in 1936 so both the 108 and 109 were designed as "Bf", but manufactured as "Me." Reportedly, the same year the company was re-named, they narrowed the Taifun's fuselage, moved the pilot to the rear seat location, hung a V-12 up front and voila! A legend was born.
