Is anyone out there using the Magnum .91 FS in one of these? I am ready to purchase a engine for mine and the price of the Magnum is really appealing, but I read some posts where others had said not to use it in a Warbird that was more than 9 lbs.... Should I just spend the extra money and buy a Saito 100, or do you all think the Magnum will be plenty enough power to fly scale maneuvers with this plane?
If it were you? Recommendations?
Thanks,
Steve

I do not know the Magnum 91, but on my P 47 I mounted an OS 110 4S and it is fabulous!
Flies very well in all conditions!
Guaranteed!

I have a Magnum 91FS in a TF AT-6. Flies fine at 10 1/2 lbs. It did drop a valve spring after about 5 yrs and the muffler headers crack (been through 3). Other than that it has been very reliable.

Buy it, try it, fly it. Let us know how it works out. Maybe even post a video. I have a 60 size TF P-47 in the bones that is ready to glass and paint. Thanks.

The Magnum .91 will fly it fine. I've seen them with OS .91's and they perform well. I have a YS-91 in mine soon to be swapped out for an OS 1.10.

I use a Saito125. This is a bit overpowered, but I intend using the plane for flying a Basic Imac program with with a 3-blade propeller, so the extra power will come in handy. It fits well within the cowling with a compact muffler. It will fly well at 25% throttle which means the engine most of the time will not be struggling.

Thanks for the advice everyone... What about a gasser... Would the JC-28 be a good engine combo for this plane? Would there be any issues with mounting and throttle hookup? I have never used a gas engine.. but the fuel saving cost is tempting me to try one...

All,
Apologies for jumping in and hijacking.
Got a P47 exact same size but it's unfortunately a no brand made in China clone. It flies nicely with a pumped OS 120 but the retracts provided in the box are less than adequate and keep giving me major headaches...
What did you guys install on your bird in terms of retracts ?
thx
Hong
