Hello everyone, as of the Northwest Model Exposition in Washington State and the WRAM Show in New York, KMP has debued the new Signature series Warbirds with the first two planes being rolled out. As shown, the T-28 is modeled after a carrier plane complete with operational tailhook, and hidden switch panel for the switches and airvalves. The fiberglass composite is better than ever before and is uniquely light. The AT6 airframe weighs only 10 lbs before engine and radio. The big feature of both planes is they are designed to accept OEM Robart manufactured retracts. Wings are built up and covered in Solartex then markings installed and painted with a tough epoxy paint. The AT6 wings are removable for transportation, they just slide on and attach to the one piece fuselage and wing root. Easy Smeezy. The T-28's cowl is big enough to house the Saito 450. Specs are below.
T-28 Trojan;
Engine: 45-62cc
Wingspan- 81''
AT6 Texan;
Engine: 28cc-35cc
Wingspan-88''

RE: The New KMP Signature Series Warbirds
I have been hoping and looking for a 190 D9 - this new offering looks great. Yeah, Sist might be a little more scale but they weigh about 30 plus pounds and cost thousands. Aren't they basically unavailable?
This new KMP Fw 190 D9 arf can give us a great looking and flying German warbird without spending 1000 plus hours to build it.
I will be keenly interested in owning this new aircraft from KMP regardless of colorscheme. Going now to KMP website to see how to order.
Thanks KMP for giving us a rather unique aircraft, one that has a design that lends itself well to RC flying. Don't pay too much attention to detractors.
John
P.S. if you want a p51 or p47 try ziroli, or ironbay/byron, topflite, dave platt, meister, yellow, robart, or han 9 or sig or aerotech. And there are several, no, many more.

RE: The New KMP Signature Series Warbirds
I will be taking delivery of six(6) of the KMP signature series warbirds tomorrow, 10/25. I will have three each of the T6's and T28's. I ordered four of the birds (2 each) in an UNPAINTED condition, but I'll make you such a deal on Warbirdcolors. (www.warbirdcolors.com) You can have a killer airplane, that does not look like everyone elses....If you are in the Pacific Northwest, and can get to Portland, you will save over $100 in shipping charges. I will post pictures as soon as I am able. Interested parties should contact me via email at: [email protected]. One(1) of the T28's is sold, but the buyer is not sure if he wants an uppainted one or not...

RE: The New KMP Signature Series Warbirds
The airplanes have arrived! three each of the T-28 and T-6. The unpainted ones (2 of each) are primered in white, so they will be easy to paint any color. I should have pictures in the next couple of days. I have arrived at a price, below list price, and for the unpainted ones, that will INCLUDE a quart of Warbirdcolors to paint it with, or two pints etc. etc. If interested , contact me off-site via email at: [email protected]
I am having a web-site issue with the ordering process right now, but you can go on-line and see the colors, or go find a paint scheme and we'll work it out...

RE: The New KMP Signature Series Warbirds
OK, I've finally cracked a box...THe box I opened was an unpainted T-6. Here are some pictures. I am planning to take more pictues this weekend, including some of them put together.
For those of you have asked about shipping to various parts of the US...I have not had a chance to measure/weigh the boxes yet. I will do that this weekend and then I can quote shipping costs.
Pictues of UNPAINTED t-6. Just a reminder, if you buy one of these, PAINT IS INCLUDED (Contact me off-line at [email protected] for pricing)

For most of you KMP fans, Andrew has released the color scheme planned for the new KMP FW190 D9. I don't see any reason not to share it with you so here goes;

RE: The New KMP Signature Series Warbirds
what a great thead.. i have read the whole thing.. lol...
a couple questions havent been answered ( i think) one is the diameter of the at-6 cowl and the Trogen as well.?
its pretty clear that you guys are staying in the whole 1/5 th scale theme which is great. but my main question is if you do a p-47 and stay with the 1/5th scale theme it should be in the 95 to 98 inch area..It was a much larger plane.. the p-47 and corsair were the big ones. i really hope you make one this size because in the past with other company's they always seem to scale down the p-47. and I wanna 1/5 scale one..
it looks like all these radial engine planes will accept the sedel 7-70.. whoo wouldnt that be great to have a hanger full of radials hu?

The cowl is slightly wider vertically than horizonally. It is roughly 10" horizonally, tapering down to about 9 1/2 at the front of the cowl (measured in the middle of the cowl)

Hello Gents, just for your information, there is another retract option for the KMP T-28C. Lado retracts is offering the RS999 series retracts that can drop right in. Powerful electrics designed around supporting a 33 lb. aircraft.

RE: The New KMP Signature Series Warbirds
Saw the Texan a couple of days ago at a local hobby shop and was blown away at the look of it. Only really got to see the fuse but that was enough to make me want one. I did not know what brand it was as it had apparently just arrived and no one was sure what brand. I have trawled the net for 3 days then found this thread and read.
Where is the manual for this, Does not appear on your website at all.
The place selling it said was for a 50cc engine but I see that it is mentioned here as a 28-35cc plant. Will a 50cc fit or is this overkill on the Texan?
Can anyone advise what the dimensions of the Texan cowl is and has anyone built one and what engine and servo's they used.
would I be right in thinking big torque servos not required? Would 10Kg-cm/134oz-in be ok or do u need 16Kg-cm/222oz-in or higher.
I also wanted to know more on how the wins are attached? Also what code is the Robart retracts that fit and what size wheels?
looking forward to getting the info and hope to get one for Christmas.
One last thing what real plane was this paint done on so can update the scale a bit more.
Thanks for a great looking plane.
Regards Greg
