Default Best filler for epoxy/ glassing?

I generally use Zap epoxy finishing resin on my birds. To fill in imperfections or fillets, What is the best stuff to use?

Iv'e always used Bondo (polyester based resin auto body filler) for my projects. But Iv'e herd epoxy and polyester resins are not supposed to be compatible. Although they stick together,
It seems after a few years you can start to see where you applied it. I assume from the different expansion and contraction qualities of those materials.

I've also used epoxy and micro ballons mixed together.

Spot putty seems to be the worst.

Any other products that would be better to use?

Body filler (Bondo) works great with polyester resins. For epoxy or Poly you can use flock (milled fiberglass) mixing with the resin of choice and to the consistency you require.
The biggest problem when bonding epoxy over poly is sanding and cleaning sufficiently to remove any wax or contaminents on the surface of the part. Poly will soften or dissolve epoxy.

You can't beat The Zap Finishing Resisin and Sig Microballoons. Dan.

This is what I've been using. I don't normally have a large area (over 3 sq inches) to work.. It's catylist based and goes off pretty quick compared to other glazes.

I will have to agree with Scale,  I have used the West Systems 410 filler, and it works great, like the other West Systems products that I've used.   And, in my experience, sands much easier then epoxy and micro balloons.  The 410 filler has good strength as well, so you could use it for a fairly large area without worrying about cracking.

Note: there are various versions of the West Systems fillers, and this is likely the best one for model use.   The others appear to be heavier, and more suitable for boat and automotive use.

However, I may need to try Evercoat spot putty, it seems like it might be a bit better then the stuff I typically use that I get from the local auto supply.

I use a product called split second from summit racing for a filler it's lighter and sandable in 15 minutes .Good for fillets too.

The reason you can see where "Bondo" was applied is it is polyester and it shrinks. Use an epoxy filler and it won't shrink. Contact http://www.stits.com and ask for "Superfil" . It is infinitely lighter than Bondo and does not shrink. It also sands well.
