There has been a growing number of us coming up from Oklahoma. This year was the best yet. Worth every minute of the 11+ hour drive. This is one of the best run events that we have ever attended and the almost non stop food from Karen is worth the trip alone.
Thanks to Tim and Karen and the whole support crew for a great weekend.

I am very sorry to report that my friend Major Bob Zenz took his 39th and final mission into the great beyond at 4:30 this morning. Those of you in attendance at the event on Saturday may have gotten a chance to meet him. He was 86 years old. He was thrilled with the noontime show and was particularly touched by the B-17/Lancaster flight. Thank you to all who participated. What a great send off to a great American hero. He will be missed by all who knew him. Safe journeys Bob.

That's really pretty sad.
I was choked up just shaking his hand and thanking him after the B-17 show.
Now I'm a mess.
And 50,000 guys like him didn't even come home.
I don't think even those of us who memorialize and know the history will ever really understand how difficult it was. And how much we owe them. Please tell the family again how honored we were to have him in our midst.
Thanks for letting us know, Cal.

Cal,
So sad to hear about Bob's passing. The tribute you organized for him was impressive and very touching. He was having a fantastic time. Everyone that participated should be proud of honoring a brave man!
Thanks to you Cal and everyone involved for the honor to meet him.
Blue skies and smooth landings, thanks again Bob.

Thank you Cal for arranging the opportunity to meet our departed Hero. I only wish we would have had the chance to know him better...but I guess that wasn't a bad send off! Here's a few shots of the event and of the Man.
