Default Propellers

Hello,
Ihave a P51 Mustang and I am wondering about Propellers. I have a 3 blade propeller that came with the plane But Have been told I need to change it out to a 2 blade Propeller. I have been told several sizes to use and was wondering if there is a certain propeller that should be used or for that matter is there any that should be avoided for this model plane ?
I was told a 2 blade would give me more speed and power . Is this true ? Any answers would be greatly appriciated !!

A 2 blade propeller will be more efficient. Multiple blades are a compromise, generally for ground clearance? Some guys just think they look cool. Stick with a 2 blade.
First we do need to know what size engine.

The only problem with 3 blade props is their scarcity. The difference in efficiency between 2 and 3 blades is less significant than the lack of props to try on your engine/model combination. So if you find a prop that would seem worth trying, try it, because there are very few 3 blade props to even try.

My Yak54 with it's OS61FX was clocked at 93mph the other day. It was behind it's favorite prop, one that won a 6-7 prop comparison a year ago, a Master Airscrew 12x6(3). That one also pulls vertical better than the other 2-bladers tested. Could there be a better 2 blade available? Yes, but there wasn't in the testing.

It is a Hangar 9P51 PTS Progressive Trainer with a EVOE100 Engine and a EVOE100P Propeller.
Wingspan of 58 inch and 44 & 1/2 inch fuselage.
I believe it is 6-7lbs.

Thought so, you can try the 2-blades 10x6 or 11x6 this gives you more air speed. The 3-blade on the engine now has only a pitch of 4. Remove also the Flywheel of the prop nut - this is only good for low idle - but hinders performance.

there is a very interesting threat in the ARF section about that airplane and mods...
