ok, i got it running, i kept the glow plug starter on for about 2 minutes and it kept running! around how long do i have to break it in for? i have a 10 ounce tank, how long of run times will that give me? thanks for your help

You might want to post your running problems in the Super Tigre forum, Max is usually on tap to answer your questions ( Supertigre rep).

Meanwhile , make sure it isn't sucking air, all connections are tight in your fuel lines and the lock nut is locked down fairly snug at the main needle valve. You should be using a pressure tap from your mufler to pressurize the fuel tank which will aid greatly in both general fuel delivery ( especially in airobatics) and with throttle transition.

With Supertigre engines run it rich at first, once you get to leaning it out, then set the throttle to be off idle just a bit and set your low speed needle for good running and good transition before you set the actual low speed idle RPM. I'd start out with a good 2.5-3 turns out on the main needle with the glow driver attached, then lean from there, it will want plenty of fuel to keep running till it breaks in a little.

You should be able to lean it out enough to run it without the warmer by now. Keep it rich though.

it will run with out the glow starter now. i can not believe the power it puts out, i had it in my drive way and i accidently hit full throttle and i couldf barely hold it back, a little different then electric, and i was also wondering any ways that i can QUICKLY shut it off if i need to. thanks a lot

I own both the OS 46AX and the TT 46 pro. IMO the TT is by far better value. They are both about the same power and reliability but the TT is far cheaper.

You should set your radio to shut the engine off, up trim to keep it idling, down trim for shut off. With Futaba radios two flips of the training switch should roll the carb barrel back enough so the engine won't run ( cuts the air supply off), that's the Futaba engine kill feature.

Electric is a fun way to fly but you can't compare electric to gas yet, it's coming along, but gas still rules for torque and for pulling heavier planes !!!!

Ditto on Yellowflier's statement if you own the new 6 channel Futaba. Most computer radios that I am familliar with have a kill switch feature. Look in the instruction manuel to program that.

Otherwise: Mechanically set the barrel on the carb so there is about a 2mm opening whith the throttle all the way down-but not the trim tab. The trim tab should be (in my opinion) 1/2 the way up, or centered. Either way, set the trim tab high enough to completely close the barrel when your throttle is set at idle. This way, if you need more throttle to idle, you have trim to open the barrel more, and when you need to kill the engine, you just pull the trim tab down.

Congrats on a successful break-in. Keep it on the rich side.
