choosing engine size
I Have a p47 with aproximately 6 foot wing span i will send pictures later but any idea how big of an engine do you think i will need. I hope to put a 1.00, or 1.20 glow, i don't know the weight yet.
thanks for any help, dave trimmer |
RE: choosing engine size
Dave a lot will depend on the weight of the model. Right off the bat a 1.2 will not be enough.

RE: choosing engine size
A Saito or similiar 120 will fly a 14 pound warbird without problem. If you have a need for speed or want to 3D it then put more power in the plane.
A Laser 120 similiar to Saito 100 will fly the CMP 70" 11 pound Zero well with a 15x6 APC at 8.3k sealevel. I used a Saito 180 in a 83" 17.5 pound Claude and it flew very well. Decide how you want it to fly and pick your motor acordingly. Carl |

Is the plane an ARF or built from a kit?
