Panel lines on zero

Hello Everyone
I'am putting panel lines and rivets on my zero, i have only been able to get 1/32 graphics tape, is that going to be fine. Ian

How big is the Zero Bluffman? In my opinion 1/64" is plenty wide for even the large scale stuff but 1/32" is workable in the larger scales as well. It is amazing to me how well 1/64" wide lines stand out on the finished surface so I don't ever use anything wider msyelf. I've seen 1/16" used on some giant birds which I think looks awful but not everybody shares my opinion which is, of course, all I'm offering here. :) Looking forward to pics of the Zero whatever width the panel lines may be!

I used 1/16 and also some 1/8 in some areas on a TF GS P51 (84"ws) and it turned out about right. Like they say, depends on plane size! Paul

Did you spray right over the tape? Leaving it.

Or did you spray a coat or two then remove the tape to spray another coat?

Nice work!

Meschmidt,
Are you going to put rivets on? If so, would be interested in your technique, and seeing the final results. I got a large project being done and just looking for the best method of applying rivets. [8D]

Apply the chart tape, two thin coats of primer, smooth out primer with red scotch brite pads, remove chart tape and paint with final coat. Rivets applied with hot pencil soldering iron with small brass tube on end of it. Just a quick touch with a little pressure applied to it and they go on quickly. Not the best way to do it, but certainly the easiest! Paul
