are you going to have any electric retracts that we will be able to use in our H9 B-25 's ? i would love a set of these for that plane :) also would like to kow what the price range is going to be ?

they look like nice retracts cant wait to actually handle a set and see how they work compaired to my lados in my hellcat.

Are their plans to make some in 74 degrees. I have pica FW190 which is just sitting until I get the leggs for her and thats the correct angle. Also what about designing some to fit a 5/8th dia strut??

I think it would be nice to have a set that had adjustable angles to suit your aircraft. I have a Pica 190 as well that may get a set of these.

I predict that these will be such a hit that other companies will follow with copies, then pnumatic companies will begin to offer electric retrofits and all electric retracts. In fact, I'd bet that in 3-4 years pnumatic retracts will be in the phase out and going the way of the dinosaur.

perhaps , if the eletric stand the test of ...... time . Good pnumatic retracts have done so , so i would not write them off just yet .

Hi guys,

To answer a few questions here.

A 74° set for FW-190's is probably out of the question. I sincerely doubt there are enough sales to warrant designing a set for this application. I really wish there were, just the true reality of it.

We currently do not have a 110° nose gear that would fit forhte B-25. Another area where would therre be enough demand to warrant the cost. Not real sure.

You cannot design a set of these to have multiple retract angle, just is not possible. The retract angle is set by the rotation point and side frame runners. So each and every angle you want woudl require a special set.

As for withstanding the test of time.... Pneumatics are great and have been around for a long time. But the modelers of today seem to desire the Plug and Play concept. I do believe these will give the Pneumatics a real run for their money over time. Also the support from HH isn't a bad thing either. So I would partially agree that in a few years the older mechanical and pneumatics could become another thing of the past.

John - is this why you/ H9 don't offer offset retracts for your mustangs? H9 seems to think its too expensive to make them even semi-scale? It certainly is possible to design retracts that have the correct retract angles, as Robart and others have done. If you did that you would have a competitive advantage - even if you offered it as an extra cost option people would pay for that option I'm sure.

If you don't bother with these features you won't compete very well with the pneumatic retracts. How well you compete with mechanicals will depend on the pricing of these electric retracts.

Hi Ed,

Please check and see that we will be offering some 85° sets which are exactly what a P-51 needs.

I had to come up with a foot print that made sense for this size. I felt the Robart air up/spring down system units were probably about the most widely used in this size range so I made them to match. If you have the Robarts, these are a drop in for them.
I truly understand your issues concerning the retracts and struts for the new Mustang and older 150 sized mustang. Straight struts are a cardinal sin but I am not in charge of that. I personally would have never done that.

No company that I know of offers 74° retracts except Century Jet. I will be honest, they do not appear to be any serious competition in the retract field from what you will find on this forum or others.

As for competing with mechanicals, there really aren't any out there that are good over 9 pounds. The Hangar 9 units for their 150 size are about $80 street price for a set and then you need (2) $70.00 retract servos. What would be a solid price for a pair of 60 - 120 sized electric main units in your eyes. I am interested in what you guys think here.

Look for them at a trade show in a state that starts with an "O". You should be happy I believe.

Still can't give you a price yet, but it will be reasonable.

Quality will be what you see. Solid 6061-T6 aluminum. No plastic at all.

These are a follow on to our currently available 10 - 15 sized electric retracts that have been out for over a month. More sizes to follow guys, it will only get better with time.

John; what about rotating? for corsairs. I'd think there would be a market for those
