First set. Hull arrived on thursday, was trimmed and rejoined friday and saturday, started on the stringgers and top deck sunday, 'finished' top deck this morning. The white foam block is actually the L1 superstructure that is not complete yet. It is only 1/3 skinned in balsa.

Yes, the inner skegs are moulded in, Im still not sure if I am going to run all 4 props or just 2 for simplicitys sake and to be a little easier to keep with in speed requirements. (since rules say that not all props have to be installed, and not all props have to work)
I put the deck on so that I could send it out for a splash test to see how water tight it is, and what its nautral ballance is before adding any of the equiptment.
I liked Umi's idea of having it sink and but leave a section boyant so that the boat never really hits the bottom and never gets lost. So I was going to try and make the stern boyant so that when ever it sinks it does a BOW DOWN and then hangs by the stern at the surface.

WoW...nice. Looking at that hull makes me cry inside...just a little though. I'm having alot of fun just trying to figure out how to build one to begin with. Thank you very much for sharing the pictures! JM..thanks for the tip about the deck!!!!
About the cannon mounts. I've seen a few pics here and there. I need to get some of those in my hand so that I have an idea how much space I need. Can you estimate how much 3D dimensions I will need? Hidth, Depth, Height? Especially for the 3 turrets of the Cherry Tree Class...HMS Rodney & Nelson.

No need to get pissy
I told you that my comments were not directed at you, no need to take offense to something that was not offensive.
THAT is how I want my Jersey to look. Very clean and ALMOST too nice to shoot at. The gun houses fit, and the turrets arent taller then the superstructure, everything just looks in place.

Leave it to Umi to lighten the mood. LOL.[sm=bananahead.gif]Anyway, I found some 1''x1''x6' pine in my basement, Im going to cut that up to use as a caprail tonight and fill in the holes that the poly rails left open. Then I can finish and install my cannons later this week since I finally have 90% of the parts I need to do so. (all Im missing are the survos and 1-way valves.
Next is skinning and cutting out the windows. Then redoing the deck with some heavier material.
Ill keep taking pictures.

Umi, you are far from being a moron!
I just spent a few minutes cleaning up this thread (stoopid dial-up!). I usually don't see the scale or warship people getting into a pissing contest and hope not to again, I leave that up to the gas boaters![sm=lol.gif]
OK, where were we?

Garg. Caprails SUCK!
I have to try and find a way to make 1/4'' caprails so that the decking and rails will be under the 3/8'' rail/deck size limit...
back to the drawing board.

Now that he mentioned it, I'm far from knowing a lot about combat ships but what little that I do know is that the hulls have to be made from balsa, not fiberglass.. They have a test where they drop a rod to see if they can puncture the hull as a test.

I have not cut out the hull sections for the windows yet, that is why it is still solid.
That, the deck, and the superstructure are the last things I am going to do. I am still trying to get a caprail to fit and be with-in club rules.
