This forum is going, but is not really a primary source. It is used (by me at least) mainly to redirect newbies to better primary forums.
The first question is whether you actually want Small/Fast Gun format guns or Big Gun format guns. The Links portion of this forum has links to lots of local clubs in both formats, many of which have diagrams, illustrations, and how-tos in their format (small gun is single barrel BB, Big Gun is entire turrets of from 0.177" to 0.25" calibers, along with other differences).
Your local club can help you out with explanations and exemplars. Being from Ontario, you might want to look up the Ontario Attack Force (OAF) - [link=http://groups.msn.com/OAF]http://groups.msn.com/OAF[/link].
You also might want to look into the primary forums, which are Groups on Yahoo.com. The Big Gun group is BigGunsModelWarship, the Small/Fast Gun group is IRCWCC. There is also an introductiory article reprinted from the December, 2005, issue of Servo Magazine which explains a lot on [link=http://www.ntxbg.org]www.ntxbg.org[/link].
Additionaly a source for Big Gun guns and plans is [link=http://www.bderc.com]www.bderc.com[/link]
For Small Guns - [link=http://www.battlersconnection.com]www.battlersconnection.com[/link], though he is away at this moment (see his web site for more info).
Hope this was helpful,
Wreno
