Does it damage nitro balsa rc planes , if you store them in garages where heat can be up to 100 degrees every day ???

I have a Ultra Stick that was stored NIB in a Calif. Storage unit for years. Being in an area of high summer temps. it is loosing covering because of seperation of the bonding and film. I suspect the heat exposure had a lot to do with this condition.
