Default Basic ESC Setup

I am setting up my Caldera 10E. I'm using a LiPo battery.

Can anyone give me the rundown on where to set each of the following:

1. Running Mode:
Forward Only with Brake
Forward/Reverse with Brake
Forward and Reverse

2. Drag Brake Force
0% 5% 10% 20% 40% 60% 80% 100%

3. Cut-Off Threshold
No Protection
2.6v/Cell
2.8v/Cell
3.0v/Cell
3.2v/Cell
3.4v/Cell

4. Start Mode
Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 Level 5 Level 6 Level 7 Level 8 Level 9

5. Brake Force
25% 50% 75% 100%

6. Reverse Force
25% 50% 75% 100%

7. Initial Brake Force
Drag Brake Force
0%
20%
40%

8. Neutral Range
6% 9% 12%

I don't think 9-10 apply to electric trucks. 11, I can figure out on my own and 12 I'll put at 2 Cells.

the settings are really upto you.
here is what i would set it at:
1) 2
2) 2(this applies slight braking when you let the off the throttle, but have not yet applied any brake)
3) 5
4) 1 (softest setting. will save drivetrain)
5) 2 or 3. depends on how strong you want the brakes.
6) 2 is good. thats plenty of speed in reverse
7) 2 or 3. again, depends on how strong you want the brakes to be.
8) 2 is my fav. this one adjust how much trigger play there is between neutral and gas/brake

i forget which one is for motor timing. leave that one alone. the stock setting is best IMO.
on the lipo setting, i leave mine in "auto detect # cells" but sometimes i run a 3s. if you only plan to run 2s then that setting will do.

hope that helps.

I've been wondering what people tend to set theirs up at also, so nice post.

Also, what is the difference btw the version 2 and version 1 ESC 35A. I've been looking at getting a programmer card, but they seem to say for version 2 on the EzRun, and my ESC is version 1.1 (even though I just got the Caldera 10e a few weeks ago). Will the ver 2 still work on mine?

id say thats a Q to ask redcat: [email protected]
but i would assume that if it says v1.1 on it that the v2 program card wont work.
