Default fried baby fried....

so i took the eq 8e out today in a field that was half dirt and half snow (about 1-2" deep...). i drove around for about a 1/2 hour and i think i got the electronics wet in the snow and mud as the truck has stopped working. not too bright on my part.....
anyhow, i initially thought the batteries were dead but when i swapped them out the new ones didn't work either. i am letting it dry out upside down and i will see how it looks later. any suggestions? thanks guys!

Dry it out thoroughly and go from there.

Put your nose to it to smell if it is burnt or see if it is smoking when you power it up; mine was smoking and smelled burnt when I did the exact same thing you did.
Those stock esc's are not water proof or water resistant what so ever and I don't think Redcat will cover that under their warranty.
Try this as a replacement that is if you are able to find a dealer on the net where they are not sold out; from what I heard it's much better than the stock esc it's the one I bought as a replacement and it is suppose to be splash resistant but I still would not recommend from what I have heard running them in wet conditions.

The Xerun is an upgrade for the Ezrun. However, if it were me, I'd pay the extra $30 for a 150Amp, and be able to run 2 3s packs.

id bet the Rx got damaged. ive lost one to getting wet before. didnt take much water either, just a couple of drops of snow.

dont suppose you have a spare rx or a identical one kicking around to try?

the stock ESC is "dust proof" and "splash proof" terms taken right from the ezrun manual.

if the ESC got wet and thus damaged, it will smell burnt 99% of the time. if yours doesnt smell bad, then that would add to the Rx as being the damaged unit.

does the steering servo "jerk" or make a noise when you 1st turn the truck on?
try disconnecting the steering servo from the reciever and see if the ESC will work right then. its not that likely, but i have had a bad servo cause my ESC to act up.

the fact that the servo does not turn, and the ESC blinks says to me that the ESC is not getting a signal from the Rx.

I AM A BONEHEAD AND DESERVE TO BE KICKED OFF THIS FORUM!!!

so i went onto the speed controller website and pulled up the manual and this is what it says:

PROBLEM: After power on, motor can’t work, but emits “beep-beep-, beep-beep-” alert tone. (Every “beep-beep-” has a time interval of 1 second )

PROBABLE CAUSE: Input voltage is abnormal, too high or too low

SOLUTION: Check the voltage of the battery pack

so, oddly enough, my batteries were dead.  i was sure that the new bateries i put on there were charged but i was mistaken (i have 4 sets of batteries, 2 of them are the same....).  anyhow, i tried a 3rd set and the thing works fine.  my apologies to redcat for cursing you out today in a quiet field...  anyhow, did anyone know that about the beep beep when the batteries are dead?

ah, so constant steady beeps from the ESC means the lipo's voltage is too low. thats good to know.
and dont feel bad, based on your description i jumped to the conclusion the Rx was bad!
gotta love manuals!
