cold weather nitro
I am trying to run my earthquake 3.5 outside in cold temps (20F). I start the engine inside and let it warm up a bit then take it outside. I have a sock around the heatsink to keep it warm but I will not run
a full tank without quitting. I believe it is quitting because the cylinder gets too cold. I am using 20% nitro andstill running the original glowplug, which I think is a medium, and was wondering if a hot
or cold glow plug would be better for cold temps. I guess im not sure what a hot, medium, cold glowplugs do. I assume they glow and fire the engine at different temps.
Thanks

RE: cold weather nitro
Greetings I live in North Dakota and have been running my Avalanche XP .28SH like crazy I found out that a sock only gets wet and cools too much so I used a Coke can which fits perfectly over the head making sure it does not touch any soft or moving parts. also i built a snow shield so when my body fits on it is snow proof. check this out Bro...

RE: cold weather nitro
Thats a good idea i'll try it. I also like the snow shield, I have ran mine without and packed it so full of snow that the throttle would not work
anymore. Sounds like spring is finally on its way, so I might not get to try it until next year, but they are so fun in the white stuff, especially with
the natural" jumps" everywhere.
