Yup went and got me the 1/24 scale sumo truck. Wondering if i would like a 120 mah airplane 1s lipo in it will that overpower the unit or would 2 since it would then be about 7.4 volts where it currently is 6 volts with 4 aa at 1.5 volts each.

is the type i was thinking of using.

Buy the wire connector and connect it. as the helo that comes in has a wire to plug into that battery will just solder it onto the sumo.

Hmm, a case could be made either way.  It's possible it will work.  I wanted to try some NiZn batts in it, then it would have been 6.4 volts which is even closer to it, however never got around to that experiment.

figured the lipo and then try to work one of the outboard little brushless motors on some how. This will be a little down the road. Need to get the crawler together and the buggy finished before race season.

Brushless motor is tougher. Brushed motors are DC, whereas brushless are 3 phase AC.

1s lipo will be fine on the stock electronics. 2s lipo however messes with the stock ESC/rx. i tried it, and the throttle was all over the place.
