it might work if you replaced the ESC/rx board with one that will come on the sumo crawler.

the sumo's all have esc's and rx that are one unit. so you cant just swap in a different Rx.

you can however replace the transmitter with another if you use the same crystal in it as whats in the vehicle

basically. many of the mini and micro RC's out there have the reciever and speed control as one unit. thus, if you want to change the radio you have to change the speed control as well.

look up a pic of the losi mini t ESC. its a ESC/Rx combo unit.

the sumo's have a simillar setup, only it is a smaller unit. the same will be true of the mini crawler that is coming out, only the built-in Rx will be 2.4ghz instead of FM or AM.
that is great, as a 2.4ghz will be less glitchy. i know im gonna pick up one of these new crawler as soon as they come out. i want to see how good they are and how easy they will be to mod[8D]

i tried lipo, but the increase in voltage screwed up the throttle signal. it was jumping all over the place...lol.
