Default Pull start issue

Hey guys I'm just getting back into the RC hobby after a 10 or so year brake. Anyways I just got a tornado and its my first nitro car. Everything else I have ever run is electric so I'm learning as Im going. Anyways I got it up and running and have started breaking in the engine, but the pull start has me a little concerned. It seems to want to push right up next to the throttle linkage and kind of get cought up in it. So far it hasent been an issue, but I worried that it may get bound in such a way that its going to cause issues ( like a stuck throttle or no brakes).I have bent the linkage a little and it has helped some but I'm not sure I can go any more without causing binding. The pull start in its relaxed position literally wants to sit in line with the linkage. Any suggestions on what I cant do?

Yeah, mine did that too. It's just a poor location by design.
I ended up going with the electric start system. It will elliminate the pull start all together and after using it I will never go back to pull start.

I know it's not exactly what you were looking for, but if you do get it you will love it. As for the pullstart and the linkage, It always bothered me how it touched but it never gave me any issues as far as running.

I was thinking about doing that but wasn't sure if it would work. I think I will give that a try. Thanks!

be careful pulling the pull start off make sure the spring doesnt get undone. Once off place a piece of tape over it to keep it from popping out on its own. Will save you a ton of hassle in the long run.

You can't , lol, A buddy of mine made them for Me, If I would have paid for them He said it would have been around 115$ for all 4, They are one of a kind. The crappy part is He was going to mass produce these for all Redcat models but that summer He was hit with a huge flood and destroyed all of His CNC equipment.

Mine just did the same thing yesterday. What kind of warranty do they have on these things? this was only the second time I used it. It now has smoke coming out of the button.
