id think it may be easier to upgrade to the SH .18 thats in the tornado S30 (since its a very simillar chassis)

i assume you have the VX .16 motor in it now, so a SH .18 will be a nice power increase.

Yeah I have the .16 in it now and I was going to upgrade to the .18 but for 20 dollars more I can get the .21 engine.I'm just wondering if the engine mounts will line up or if would have to drill new holes.

unless you are looking to do only speed runs, i dont see why you would want the .21. it would totally over power the shockwave. most likely just end up with lots of broken parts. i have seen and aftershock 3.5 run(.21 motor) and it was shocking the acceleration. stick with the .18 if you want to have a buggy that wont tear itself apart.
the SH motors are also alittle better quality IMO. so even tho the .18 isnt much bigger, it will be much faster.

you will have to redrill the chassis for the .21 engine, the case is larger, also you will need a different header and pipe, adjustable engine mounts from the monsoon would be a great help also. You will also need the whole assembly from the flywheel forward (clutch bell, shoes, washers, nuts, etc) I have done it and its insane but you will go thru spur gears like crazy since it wasnt really designed for a big block engine.
