Are the shocks for the Backdraft 8e propiertary or will any 1:8 buggy shocks be compatable?
I ask because I went to a track today, did a sweet jump and one of the shocks were leaking oil so I am assuming I need new ones.

i do not know if it is a universal shock for 1/8 scale on that model. However they do offer an all aluminum upgrade for a reasonable price.

Most 1/8th scale shocks will work or "fit" ie losi, mugen ect but they are $$$$$$ and you may have to chane the shock towers at least the rear because the BD shocks are short and the same length... and the 1/8 scale buggy shocks are big bore like BD but are diff sizes front and rear........ a few on youtube have messed around with other shocks on the BD do a search.

I have SCT's in 2WD, 4WD and Rock Crawlers, looking at all the differant spring rates, oil weights, big bores, internal springs, droop set up, it all seems like smoke an mirrors to me. There are so many setups it is very hard to determine what is right for your rig, style of driving and your setup. All I can say is good luck, let me know what you finaly go with.
