I've had my Tornado EPX Pro less than 6 months. I attempted to run a 7.4 5000Mah 20C lipo thru it and it only ran about 4 minutes and shut off. The motor or esc is not hot when it shuts off. It ran fine on the NiMh battery that comes stock with the buggy. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Possibly the low voltage cut off is set too high. What is the battery voltage?

I have had the same problem, I switch to 8,4 V 3000 Mah NiMH from Traxxas and for 30 seconds it goes really fast, for another 30 seconds, it goes really slow, and after that, only the steering works, not the throttle. does anyone knows how to stop that.

Go to the manual link at the bottom, it tells you how to turn off the low voltage cut off that I believe is causing your issues. Or at least I would start there.
