You can use an electric starter but you will need a battery pack and a charger.

The battery is item 3828 here: http://www.topspeedtoys.com/Upgrade.html
We don't have a charger right now, we're working on getting some in.
You should be able to find a charger in your local hobbie shop or ebay.

do you have a model number or product number for the charger that i can use to look it up on ebay? also, i had a old electric truck which had a battery pack that looked an awful lot like the pack you have listed on the site. the charger for it says its for AA type Ni-Cd battery packs and its output is dc 12v 200mA. is this the same output the chargers you are going to get have?

The battery packs required for the hand held starter are a six cell C sized pack. I had one of these chargers back in the day when I had my RC10T3 and electric stampede and it worked great and is very cheap:

That seems to be the same as what you posted a link to. would that work?

Yeah that looks good, but I dont think either charger will charge a NiMH battery pack so make sure there NiCD (it'll usually say in the description or on the pack somewhere).
