I have the aluminum shocks on mine they've held up very well. I know there are some people on the boards here who have used some traxx springs on their trucks. I think they sell them in 8 packs so if you wanted to go half in on one of those we could do that. I wouldn't mind haveing some extra shocks.

I thought they would, Hey diti you think you could measure yours from eyelet to eyelet with the shock fully extended? Most of the parts on the volcano and the tornado are pretty interchangable, i guess i assumed the springs were also. From what I can tell just eyeballing it they look like they should work for our buggies.

mounted on the volcano and fully extended they are 4inches (10cm).

I got really confuzed... cartronicshn is right, nicacus said "shock tower breaks upon landing..."

and then what tornado are we talking about???? the new himoto tornado 1:8 4x4? or the redcat tornado 1:10 buggy? I would expect the t-maxx shocks to fit the 1:8 without any problems but I have no idea about the buggy ...never had one

How are those shocks working out for you? I just go a Volcano and one of the stock shocks is starting to ooze oil. The truck seems to handle OK alot better in the backyard then the Buggy. Are they alot better then stock?

Yeah, does anyone have the aluminum redcat shocks? I was thinking of getting them. What are good shocks to get for a Volcano?

the shocks are alot better than the plastic stock ones...
I dont know about the redcat aluminum shocks but they should be fine. the ones I have are cheaper though...
however, once you get the aluminum shocks, you can play a little with the different kinds of shock oils available and tune your truck just right I think I would suggest to stick with the redcat products for perfect fit because then the truck becomes a patchwork

So I took my tornado to the LHS/ racetrack.. The owner, laughed when I brought in my car. "One of those internet POS cars huh" She seemed to think it wouldnt last a lap around the dirt track and that she has seen alot of people bringing them in looking for parts...
I did buy some team losi tires though... the lady told me I was wasting my time with the car, and that no local place will have the parts to fix it which I kinda figured.. I thought she might have some shocks I could at least look at.. but she didn't. oh well once I get my car all souped up i will go back and show them...

so have we decided if those purple shocks that Diti is using, will work on a tornado??

Tell them that the way to get business is not to insult somebody's car.

I'll know more about these things soon...so I'll be able to help you guys a lot more

You'd think they would be smart enough to know that..

they didn't have crap there anyways.. I just bought some tires and a couple clutch springs cause they were cheap.. the place is a run down old building in the lowest bowels of Utah, I don't think they get much business.. the track is nice though...
should I just go with the redcat aluminum shocks? or should I mess around and find some that will fit?

What size are the screws that hold the shocks to the shock towers, and how long are the stock shocks?

Knowing that would open up a whole world of possibilities.
