I was just wondering about what degree should the engine run at? Many articles Ive read have said to use a mini temp. gauge to tune your engine. I have a Vertex .18 engine. Any help would be greatly appretiated![sm=thumbup.gif]

285.62 degrees..
tune your engine for max performance with a good smoke trail at top speed. If the temps are above 285.62 degrees then richen it up a little. Don't run over 300 degrees.

I would shoot for 285.63
Like the uncle said dont go over 300. I keep my hurricane about 292. With the volcano, you can keep it around 270. My sons stays around there.

If you don't already have a failsafe I'd recommend getting one of these: [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJTW3&P=ML]Venom Smart temp[/link]
It doubles as a fail safe and a temp gauge. If you're engine starts to overheat it'll automatically slow you down so you don't end up cooking the thing.
If you do have one already just go with an infrared temp gun or an onboard unit.

Oh and in my professional opinion i think 285.63 is way too hot to be running your engine. I'd go no more than 285.32 just to be on the safe side.
