i dont think they're too much alike. and you can get a tornado cheaper on ebay. that one has a nicer, faster engine, but only a 1 speed trans and the layout is different. i dont think its really much alike. but it does look cool though.

that smartech is actually very similar hey. In terms of quality, who knows? I know here in Australia, parts for smartech are far easier t get hold of than redcat/himoto.

the smartech vanguard is the duratrax raze in america. since i cant say they are junk as per rules of rcu (manufacture bashing), its not a good vehicle by any means.

come surf the 1/8 buggy forums. people bash it all the time about whoever put the buggies together (how colors don't go together), the king pin suspension, and the dealers.

The Mutilator is arguably the WORST truggy on the market. I'd rather have the Team VTX truggy, and i'm not a huge fan of that either. the Mutilator is based on the Hong Nor/Ofna 9.5, which is a design that's almost as old as my Mitsubishi Montero (it's a '91), and not to mention the fact that it's a truggy that's still using buggy-length suspension arms, and that .32 is a DOG. you'd be far better off getting the Team VTX truck, getting an STS .28, and you'd wind up only about another $40 in the hole compared to the mutilator and you'd have a far superior truggy.

thats your opinion bro, i like the mutilator, i have seen it run and driven it and i like it alot. Has alot of power with the .32 in it and it handles real nice.

The .32 makes a lot of torque...it's just not much on the big end of the RPM range.

I've driven one, and I just really didn't particularly like it. I honestly believe that my .21 powered Revo handles better.

Here's my 2 cents

I'm new to the rc world. I like my tornado, for the price it seems like a really good rc. THey have their problems (a-arms breaking and spur gears) which you can read about on the forum, but all in all it's a really good car. Here's my problem,

DARIN I HOPE YOU READ THIS:

There is absolutely no factory support for the product. This forum is what they consider factory support; which is just costumers figuring out how to fix the problems their cars have, and fix factory flaws. If you e-mail/call redcat which I've done many times you will NOT get ANY customer support. DARIN DOESN'T GIVE TWO ****S ABOUT ANY PROBLEMS YOU HAVE.

Again I like the product but honestly, the company sucks, and I'll never buy anything from redcatracing.com again.

they are moving right now and there support should be much better in the next month, they are out of the atv business and just concetrating on the rc cars now or i should say soon, plus we are more fun than an email or company support, no?? LOL

This forum is awesome, without out it I would never have gotten my car runnning. It's just hard to get direct answers from redcat. I wrote them about getting a green and purple car body (simple question) never got a reply.

Ehroof I hope your right, like I said I like the product but hate the company. It seems like it's a sort of franchise himoto/redcat, and Darin just invested in the franchise, and either doesn't have the knowledge or resources to run the company properly. He'll make money now seeling the product for super cheap but if there is no consumer backing, he's screwed in the long run.

Again my 2cents
