When I press the throttle sometimes the throttle servo will respond after a few seconds and sometimes when I turn the buggy on the wheels will point left but after I move the steering it works properly. The throttle servo is a Hitec HS-422 and the steering is a Hitec HS-425BB.

so you didn't replace the receiver or the transmitter? That's about the only other place it could be coming from.. Should be able to do it cheap enough. Check ebay, might find a good deal....

me too....he's over in the himoto forums now.....he was and still is my rc guru...lol he knows lots more then me. I just learned from trial and error and you can only break so much..

I finally figured out a new pinion for my ep car. With a 10.8v 3300mah Nimh battery I'm pulling 42mph...Not too shabby....Just got my lipo charger today so tomorrow I'm going to try my 11.1v 5400mah lipo battery and see what I get. Gotta say I'm starting to like ep more then nitro...no plugs, blown engines, gas, tuning, mess or noise. Lots more expensive to start out but lots of fun without so many problems. But I still love that nitro roar...lol

Had a strange problem today. I already asked Ehroof and he said it's never happened to him so I wanted to know if anyone else has had a similar problem. While running my ep car that i put that traxxas velineon kit in the shaft that comes out of the motor (rotor) broke off at the motor case. Has anyone else ever broke that shaft on an electric motor or was mine maybe flawed? What would cause it? The crappy thing is the rotor is a $50 part and i can get the whole motor for around $75. For the extra $25 i might as well get a new one..lol

Traxxas are very good at honoring warranty claims, so talk to them first before you replace it. It was probably a flawed unit.

I've never held any rc company to their warranty. I figure as much as I change and as hard as I am on them it's my bad. I ended buying the replacement rotor and a new motor. At least next time I break something the car won't be down for a week..lol

ok so i just got my new (used) tornado today. its pretty sick. got it started and it ran like a beast. the guy lost two dogbones so i was goin rwd and it was still awesome. it would shift great. then it just quit shifting. im going to try to adjust the screw to change the shift point. i turn it out to make it shift earler, and turn the screw in to make it shift later right? if its not that what would it be? broken?

The tornado take 6061 or 6022 dog bones:

yes you are correct. Turn the screw out to make it shift sooner. Less pressure on the spring and it catches the gear sooner.

The O.S. 18 (not sure which o.s. 18) will fit with no mods, but with the .21 you will have to mod the chassis by drilling new holes and moving the engine as far back as possible. i know someone has fit a 21 engine on there car before.

is the .18 o.s. engine leaps and bounds better than the stock one that comes on the tornado? (i do not have the SH.18) i think its a VX.18 or some crap. but i want something really ridiculous that has no business being on a 1/10 buggy lol! modifyin the chassis isn't a problem. if i mess up i can always order a new 1 lol.

oh and can i use my hpi clutch bell n gears on this?

you have to use the os crvx or something like that to be a direct fit. and they are way better than the vx. night and day difference i guess.

The OS 18cv-rx is the one that's a direct fit. The one with a (S) in the title has too short of a shaft. The os 18tz-tx will fit but you need a new manifold. The trx3.3 will fit too but you need a tmaxx header. The bigest easy swap would be the OS 21tm. It's a direct swap for the 3.3 so you should still just need the manifold and a 3.3 roto start or pullstart. The cv-rx is tons better then the stock engine but the tz-tx and the 3.3 are both faster then the cv-rx. That 21tm would rock but cost you around $350 with the engine, manifold, backplate and new filter.

Hi,

My Tornado EPX motor stopped working suddenly, I am not sure what the problem is. I wish I knew more about troubleshooting.

Can anyone please suggest what would be a close replacement for the stock 540s motor.
Any help is greatly appreciated, this is my first RC vehicle and I just had it for a month.

Thank you.
