My car was sitting around after break-in because i broke the rear hub. I bought the aluminum ones from redcat. Received them yesterday and installed it. I filled up my tank and i was ready to go but couldnt start it. Ignitior was charged (charged it a nite before) also tried with other ignitor that uses ''D'' type battery, changed the glow plug, turn the car upside down and took the glow plug off took all the liquid out and tried again NO LUCK.
BTW I really wish that i would have gottan name brand truck this thing is getting expensive. Stuff keep getting broke. I spent almost $350 still cant ride the piss out of it.

There all expensive, it's the nature of Nitro, 75% Work, 15% Money, 10% Fun. But to just say one thing, I have a Volcano SV and I run it regularly with little to no problems out of it, it always starts, it takes a beating like no ones business, I've even ran it on purpose with out the air filter and it still sruns scratched up cylinders and all, I've run it lean on purpose and it just keeps on ticking. Yes I've broke stuff, but it happens, yes, I upgraded the Front and Rear A-Arms to aluminum (no I haven't borken the plastic parts they are hooked to), Yes I changed my clutch bell and spring, but it is more reliable than the Rustler I had before it, I can count on my volcano to start and tear up dirt.
You need to check your fuel system for air leaks, check your exhaust manifold gasket is not broken, check that the bolts are tight, no leaks in the fuel tank lid, check the needles on the carb aren't loose, turn your throttle trim up a bit, give it a bigger gap in the carb, prime the engine alittle bit by putting a few drops of fuel in the carb. When you put it up did you run the engine out of fuel, did you use after run oil?

i dont understand all these complaints, i have 6 redcats and they all started right away, i never broke a part except for this weekend on the lightning, my fault when i hit a divider on the track. I admit the clutch bell and spring are junk but once i changed these i have never had a problem. I find the engine that comes with the redcats very reliable and easily tuned. Only thing i have done is changed the glow plugs. I also do rutine maintaince on them like tighten the bolts and give them a once over. I am very happy with the redcats. I own many other brands and find they are all on the same level when it comes to problems

I agree, I'm not complaining, lol. I break stuff all the time on my cars though, lol, I beat them to death, I want to see what they can take and they take a good amount of abuse. Only car I can't seem to break anything on is that hurricane, it's built like a tank. Oh wait I blew the engine when the air filter fell off when I was driving it in the dirt and it landed upside down and sucked in about a pound of dirt, LMAO, that was cool though, I was having fun.
My opinion is that if it's not upside down at least twice or somethings not broke when your done driving you are not having enough fun.

I wish i had the same kinda luck u had on the vehicle. I did run the engine without gas to spend the leftover. (They told me not to leave any gas in the car after run) I did use after run oil dropped 3-4 drops from the head.

It's not luck, it just takes time to learn how to work the nitros, ya have to start somewhere. No one knows everything though, I learned some new stuff the other day i didn't know. I think you set your expectations too high, and now it's not what you thought it would be, there's alot of work to using and taking care of a nitro vehicle. I beat the crap out of mine because I don't think there's any point in having one if your not gonna beat the crap out of it. Like I said before if somethings not broke when I'm done, Ii don't feel like I had enough fun.

to be honest u might be right about expectations. I thought i was entiring the world of fun, but this truck hasnt given me any fun but freakin pain. I know u have to fix stuff but damn, i couldnt even run it one time for fun. All runs were for break-in and than it didnt start. I took it to my friend who races r/c cars, he couldnt do it either(he didnt too much time to help tho). He told me to charge my ingnitor and come back. My ignitor was charged but still put it back to charge.
Ne ways if he wont be able to start it tomrrow i am going to install my e-starter do u think it will cure my problem?

My bro-in-law has the same issue with his Volcano and he and I both know that at times you need to prime but not overprime and to open the throttle trim a little to get it started. Try those things and post updates ...
I ran mine like an SOB last night and almost made it through the day without breaking anything but of course I was running it out of fuel and having fun and then all of a sudden at 1/2-3/4 throttle my truck decided to do some acrobatic moves as in cartwheels and I broke a rear axle carrier/hub piece and fortunately I found the axle shaft piece since it decided to eject from the accident scene. LOL!! It was a site to see the cartwheels it was doing and fortunately I keep items such as that in my own "stock" so I will repair and run again tonight.
It's all in good fun though, if you happen to break something ... oh well, hope you had fun doing it ... my bro is notorious for breaking stuff in fact he snapped his T-Bone front bumper on a curb, and he's running it in 2wd only since he's waiting on new axle shafts.
And AllAbout ... I believe it's LMAO, not sure that "Laugh A** My Off" comes across well.
