Hello Ed hows it going? I hope u got some run time in over the weekend! I had a question about the high speed jet or needle valve? my tornado is running pretty darn good lately but i notice a little hesitation when i floor it . it doesnt gurgle or nothing just a hair slow. i am still running about one quarter turn from factory setting, and my temp runs about 190 to 219 i have one of those infrared temp guages. what i am wondering is should i go ahead and lean her out another one quarter turn and try it there? or should i turn it one eighth of a turn at a time . whats a good temp range for the vx .18? i dont want to lean her out to much and wear out my motor. i hav burnt a gallon of odonells 20% threw her and i no there is a lot of life in her ! any suggestions.

do 1/8 turns at a time. Run it for a minute before you adjust it, you are probably running too rich on the low end. 220 is not hot at all, i wouldnt let it go over 260. Adjust the low end needle

thats the needle i am talking about, the low end is where the throttle linkage attaches to the carb, turn it 1/8 of a turn clockwise to lean it. if it doesnt cut out on high speed running than you are good on the high needle.

the high end effects the temp more than the low end. The hessitation is most likely it loading with fuel and cant burn it right away so its too rich, do the small adjustments and see if it runs better and if stays around 240 degrees + or -

Hey Eddie, My dad ran his buggy today and he is have a little problem with the high needle. The high needle is almost flush with the collar, that's the only way it will keep running. But his temps are in the 270 range. He really can't go to much farther out with it. If he screws it in he can't even start it. I told him his low end might be a little rich. But the stubborn old man won't listen to me.LOL I think he needs to go back to tunning school.LOL Mine runs like a dream. Anyway, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. THANKS

set to base factory setting but it sounds like an air leak to me that has the engine running lean, or it could be a clogged fuel tank or carb. Test for leaks first then go from there.
