Default Upgrading Transmitter Question

Does anyone know if Spektrum DX2.0 DSM 2.4Ghz Radio System would work properly on a Tornado XP?
Don't wan't to blow a lot of money if it isn't that great on the model. I like the shorter antennae and I have a bad habit with telescoping antennaes that I forget sometimes to extend it. Part of the reason I majorly wrecked mine the first 2 minutes of operation. When I have it where it's really good and messed it all up. what a drag.

the spektrum will work fine, you only need 2 channels any ways. one for throttle and one for steering, its a good radio.

thanks. I'm guessing that the 3 channel wouldn't work since the third servo is used for models with reverse. I've located a cheap one with servos included. I was unsure of going with an outside brand since I'm new to this field with modifyable RCs.

Another question...... (sorry forgot to ask this one)
Do I need to swap the servos or can I use the existing ones?

I changed my transmitter and receiver but kept the old servos and it works fine... Going to save them in case old ones go bad.

On this type of model do you have to use a matching receiver? Or can you adjust it to work with any receiver?

if you get the spektrum servos i would swap them and keep the redcat ones as a back up, but you can use the stock servo's if you want.
