Default spur gear

why don't they make the spur gears in transmission like aluminum or something strong instead of cheapy stuff that breaks easy.

because if they were made out of aluminum they would wear faster than the nylon. Aluminum is a very soft light weight metal and doesn;t hold up well to that kind of high speed wear, if they were goign to do anything it would have to be made of steel and steel spur gears are EXPENSIVE to make, so your buggy or truck or what ever it is would be $20 per gear more expensive.

Hey Wade, Any news on Tornado BB 2 speed steel clutches? I asked Redcat and they said they were in the works. I've spun several HPI three piece setups setups.

BTW still have the original spring in one, 2 gallons of fuel... Go figure...

Thanks

Haven't heard. I'm sure it will be a few months or more.

Is there an HPI steel set-up that'll work? I looked on Tower and they have an HPI 13/18 steel. Is that a fit?

Thanks
