what's the different between traxxas 4146x and 4146? i want replace the clutch spring, but lhs only got 4146, is the spring on 4146 gonna work like 4146x?

btw, while my tsunami broken and waiting for replacment part, got this on the site, wow, it's fast. pinion gear setup is 19t and 23t, tsais nitro devil exhaust done by previous owner. and i got whole lot of extra parts with it, also 3 body, 5 set of rims, 4 set of tires, here're the pictures:

The X is a heavier duty spring, the other won't last as long. Make sure when you hook your spring together and slip it onto the shoes the place it hooks together is in the middle of a shoe and not at a pivot point[:-]

Hey you don't have to get the heavier duty one, there are lots of models out there with lots of hours on them and no problem with the regular spring. I was just giving you the difference get the lighter spring and have some fun and order the other from your LHS................it will be cheaper because of shipping[:-]

the 4146x is smaller so it has a higher stall rate, you may find the 4146 makes the car always want to go foreward, even if you set the idle lower, i found this with the mip springs for the tmaxx, i tried these on the redcats since they were cheap, like $4 for 2 springs but the car always wanted to move, with the 4146x, its got a good stall rate, so the rpms have to be a little higher before the clutch engages. but i would do like rclynx says, get the one from the lhs so you can play then order the 4146x for a backup

That car is a rocket, I love those cars, they kick butt for drifting too. Looks good. Also what they were saying about the spring, you deffinatly want the 4146x spring.

ehroof is right about the MIP, I liked the MIP clutches and springs on my traxxas ...


Also., I could be completely wrong about the "X" difference, but it 'seems' like the only difference was the same part being used for another vehicle - Example, I had a REVO and TMAXX at the same time, they were out of the part# but had a "X" which was listed for the "revo", but it was EXACTLY THE SAME PART (Not heavy duty) and worked great in my tmaxx ...

Like I said I could be wrong but I think (From my experience) that it is just a marker for another vehicle ...

its says on the, 4146 is for the tmaxx, jato too and the 4146x says high stall on it.

thats because its a bit stiffer. its all good.

on all my parts listings from my manufacturers, the X is an upgrade part.
