just got my redcat truggy ,one of the front wheels not allined strait ,anybody know how to alline the front wheels? and which screws should get loc tight .......thanx
#2

all screws that go into metal should have loctite on them. You will see turnbuckles that attach to the wheels, you turn the metal threaded rod in the center and one will move the wheel in and out, the other will tilt it in and out.

thanks so much, i tried to do this with my hand they seem to be very tight ,what tool should i use to adjust wheels and do you have any suggestions on where i can make cooling holes in the body ,because it has none

use a small wrench or plyers. make a hole right over the engine and pullstart so you can start the engine without taking the body off, also make a hold in the windshield, ovet the fuel tank, so you can refuel without moving the body. doing this will make life easier and also make the engine run cooler

make sure there is oil coming out of the exhaust when idleing. make sure the radio and car are on. make sure you oil the air filter. make sure all the screws are tight, everywhere.

make in in windshield, and on the monsoon, some have put a hole in the side for refueling instead of doing it from the front.(but cut the hole in the front anyway) Also make sure you cut out above the cooling head.

Yes make sure you oil it from the beginning. ALso, on the bottom of the front steering hub, check those screws. As a matter of fact, loctite them. The monsoon on my track this past weekend, lost both. I'm sure he will post that if he see's this post lol.. Also locktite the grub screws on the drive cups. While your at it, loctite all metal to metal screws before running it. WIll save you alot of headaches.

This should be all you need to know about the break in procedure. There is other methods, but this seems to be the most popular. Have fun![8D]

ok, took truggy out today it started on 2nd pull (cool) went through the break in process great, but now time to tune and this is where i need help, 1st truck runs great ,but when i tap the break it wants to cut off and when i fully hit the break it does cut off. it will start back up fine and run very good ,its like it begging me to give it more throttle, but im kinda afraid to open it wide open ,dont know if its time for that yet, it has a nice trial of blue smoke only when i give it gas ,also seems to be idoled way up because it moves foward while in netral ,kinda fast too .any ideas ,,,,,,,,,this thing is FUN way to go redcat p.s no screws came loose loctight seemed to work good

If its dying when you hit the brake, turn up idle screw a bit. The opening on the carb is probably closing when you hit the break. Take off air filter and you will see what I mean.

yes it does close when i hit the break now u say turn up the idle screw ,can i do this by sitting truck on something where the wheels are not on ground and start it? i ask this because it's now pouring down raining where im at , or can it be done without starting the truck ,and also does the thottle trim have anything do with it?
#18
It can and should be done while the engine is not running so it doesnt suck up any dirt in the air. The throttle trim should be at zero before making the adjustments. After setting the trim to zero turn on the transmitter, then the reciever, now turn the idle screw clockwise until the carb opening is at about 1-1.5mm. Once you do that check to be sure that there is a small opening (about .5mm) when you apply the brakes, and you should be good to go![8D]

You need to adjust your idle screw. Also if it's revving high make sure the fuel is flowing through correctly because if it's running lean the car will idle faster. And it's not good to run them lean during break in.
