1/10th Wheels/Tires Question
Real quick, cause im lazy, I know you can use rear wheels from a traxxas rustler, i have them now. Can you use the stampede wheels/tires?
The tires i have now are really low profile, and with the 13/18 clutchbell on my tsunami, its too much since i put the sh .18 engine in. just spins in the dirt.
I saw a set of stampede wheels tires on ebay and want to buy, they are 12mm hex but i wasnt sure about offset.
ehroof, im sure you know this one
Thanks!

RE: 1/10th Wheels/Tires Question
google made it easier :-)...
Offset (ET) Explained:
This is important if you are thinking of purchasing aftermarket alloy wheels. The offset is the distance in mm between the centre line of the wheel rim, and the line through the fixing (hub) face. You can have positive (+), negative (-) or neither (0). The first important reason offset is so important is that it is ultimately responsible for the position of the wheel under the wheel arch. Get it wrong and your wheels can scrub against the bodywork, suspension or at worst not turn at all! Secondly it determines how the suspension and self-centering steering behave. The most obvious problem that will occur if you get it wrong is that the steering will either become so heavy that you can't turn the steering wheel, or so light that you need to spend all your time keeping it in a straight line.
but basically, if you have the wrong offset on the wheels, it may not clear the body. i would imagine the rustler rears and the stampede to be the same offset, but wanted to be sure before i bought a set

i dont remember the brand, but they are very low profile. lower even than stock rustler rear tires. they have a tread pattern similar to the tsunami stock, but are maybe only a half inch tall

Way wrong on the Tires M8...........get some pro line Gladiators, Thats about the best all round tire for the truck and bell drive set up you have[&o] and they will fit the same type of 2.2 rims you got. I personally like the HPI 2197 chrome rims and there not that expensive

RE: 1/10th Wheels/Tires Question
well i was on ebay and found pulled wheels and tires complete as a set from traxxas kits, they were pretty cheap and i thought they would be better than what i had.
All i want to know is if the stampede and the rustler rear wheels are the same.

RE: 1/10th Wheels/Tires Question
Well i got the wheels today and put them on. looks real mean, might be a little too much, but ill find out tomorrow. Here are a couple pics...
Rustler Rears w/ short tires
Stock Stampede wheels/tires
fyi the front and rear stampede wheels are different, and the fronts are not offset as much, they still clear, but it would work better with rears all the way around.

how did you get the fronts to work , the stampede is 2wd and i would have thought the fronts wouldnt have 12mm hex's on them, the stampede setup looks real nice.

RE: 1/10th Wheels/Tires Question
yea they are all 12mm hex, but the fronts are offset a little different, they dont stick out quite as far. they can touch the pipe if its cut all the way to the right and the suspension is completely bottomed, but other than that they clear. ill see how they run tomorrow. hope its still ok with the 13/18 and the sh motor
