I have the original teflon clutch still in my shockwave but have a set of the 02048 aluminum shoes too. Will the change to alum shoes change (better or worse) the way it grabs?

Teflons the way to go on the 1/10th scales. If you use the aluminum shoes ruff up the inside of the clutch bell lightly with some fine grit sand paper and do the same to the shoes so they have something to grab onto and you should get a better faster grip.

I agree with him, but there's maintinance that needs to be done to the aluminum shoes every so often. The teflon shoes seem to last a good long time and no maintinance needed. Ya know what it really boils down to, what's your preference, personally I prefer teflon shoes. they don't eat up my clutch bell, lol.

teflon slip easier on the clutch bell and dont grab as well and they dont need any maintaince. Aluminum grabs good but need to be maintained once in a while, they mushroom over on the edges and needs to be saned down. For easier no maintaince go teflon, if you want good grab get the aluminum.
Maintaince is part of the hobby and i dont mind doing it so sanding down shoes once in a while is no big deal. I personally have never seen a steel clutch bell worn down by an aluminum clutch shoe.
