Default Differential oil

Stupid question here, but how do you check, change the diff oil. Also where can you buy it, and whats the real name of it?
Thanks

you dont check it unless you tear care apart. Thats also how you change it. Yes that is the name of if. Diff fluid. Here is a link to it so you can see what it is. There are several different brands. This is just an example. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=ASC5453

Different brands use different numbers for weights. 5000=5wt,10000=10wt,20000=20wt and so on.

My nephew got a volcano sv for christmas and we were messing around with it in the yard and somehow managed to frag the ring gear in the rear. Ordered a new assembly and a ring gear to rebuild the old one for a spare and want to know if I should grease the ring and pinion gears or just make shure they mesh properly and leave it at that?

Oh and after running his I just had to order one for myself too, what a blast . [sm=biggrin.gif]

Sorry for the hijack.

Yes always put grease and another thing with these if you have some rtv seal any holes or open spots that dirt can enter.
