Does anybody bash their avalanches? What weak spots have you experienced? Is it up to the challenge? Im asking these questions because its just been rainy all week i have broken my avlanche in but i haven't had a chance to really test it.

i have had no problems with it, i havent ran it in over a month, medical emergency with a family member but i am very happy with it and its great for jumping and bashing, the big tires help take alot of abuse.

Is it the true the alloy is "butter soft" feels pretty tough to me, but my brother crashed into me and did some cart wheels etc and and had a bent shock tower as a result. He wasn't even going that quick. Apart from the shock tower incident it seems like a great truck although i can't wait to really test it.

mine hold up good, i have done alot of jumping, they do make an upgrade one, thicker but i dont think i need it. Must have been a pretty good hit.

Yea, i was looking at the upgrade one. It wasn't a very big hit he came at me from behind and ran over the top of me lol and ended up doing some cart wheels

ive beat mine pretty good so far. only injuries so far have been getting the front steering jammed up from hitting bad on a tire (its like the steering hyper-extends and you just have to take out one of the hub screws to pop it back in place)
ive broken the rear diff brace landing straight up and down on the rear end. it broke the mount on top of the diff (plastic) which im replacing with an upgraded part (aluminum).
Also got a cracked wheel from letting my dad try it without telling him the brakes arent working good yet.

Syclone have you read my fix about the steering? You need to check the toe on the front. If you dont have any toe then it will lock up. Once you put in some toe it wont lock up anymore.
Son was out today jumping it and crashing it. The only weak link that I see so far is the wheels. The wheels wont stand up to any hard abuse. I installed another set of wheels and tires although the tires were a little small he had the same result. Another broken wheel! So now I went and bought dish wheels and bigger tires that I know he wont break. They are ofna dish with hpi gt2 tires. Just as tall as the stockers but not as wide. The stock ones are too wide. I think I should have went with the yellow dish to match the body. These tires fit alot better.

hey, i did read that and was looking closer at mine. i tried to do a toe adjustment but to get mine like you described the tie rods were really run out and the tires were toed WAAY in. The slack seems to cause the problem so i think im going to get some aluminum tie rods.
It also seems that if the steering had stops so it couldnt go so far lock to lock it wouldnt have that problem either. maybe there is a way to put some stops in it to keep it from being able to turn quite so far.
those dish wheels look good and should be much tougher. I would like a set like that but died blue, i have the same body. Is it possible to get those wheels and put the stock avalanche tires on them? my tires are like new and i hate to replace them already but with a cracked wheel i need to do something.

Went really lightly bashing today, heres the end result. On 2 avalanches 2 crapped out steering servos and lots of locked wheels (simple to just unlock but in a race that would kill you landing wrong and locking up) and the left rear hinge pin sliding out (lost e-ring). Im afraid as the jumps get bigger so will my problems lol. But i will see.

we jumped like crazy and not a problem except a couple of locked front wheels but i and my son hit the front end fairly hard, here's a video.
