You know what would be a good idea for dealers to do? I think it would be good if they offered to break in the engine for you. Especially for us newbies that have no idea about nitro engines. Well i would have to say that if they started offereing it i would rather buy one that is already broke in. Plus they could make some more money. Just a thought. What do you think? Do you like breaking in your engine?

Most places will do that for you. I don't know why you'd do that though.

It is a good idea. Some people may be a bit freaked out doing this. On another note if you don't break in the engine your self as a newbie you are missing out on valueable tuning lessons.

Most dealer will break in the motors for their buyers, all you have to do is ask them. I have seen some outrageous pricing on it though, while others are pretty reasonable. Do some pricing!

This is not about the break in idea, but I figured since the thread name was dealers I would post my comment here. I would like to thank Dennis at Clermont Motorsports because I placed my order at 1am Thursday (1-10-08) morning and it was on my front step this morning (Saturday 1-12-08). Keep in mind I live in Iowa and Clermont is in Florida. This is the second time you have impressed me with your professionalism and will forever be the bench mark I compare all other hobby stores to.
Thanks again Dennis!!

how does that lifetime engine warranty work?

I think its a good idea to break in and to learn how to break in your own engine, its part of the hobby. Plus it gets you used to the car during the break in process.
