well not to add to the bad parts list....i just bought a new tornado bb to add to the collection for my son for the holidays. once i put fresh batterys in, thats when the disapoint kicked in.
PROBLEM # 1....BAD SERVO. Its been almost 3 weeks that i spoke to nick, and he told me to send it to him..STILL WAITING.... went on ebay and bought one for $6.00 (more than half off from redcat) RECIVED THE SERVO IN 2 DAYS (UNBELIVEABLE)
PROBLEM # 2... The pull start string broke after 3 pulls...So i decided to get an power starter since this is easy for my son..FOR some strange reason the whole pull start and one way is a diffrent size than normal. Spoke to ehroof which has help me in the pass with my own tornado bb,and he never heard such thing. So i try to find out what the hell is going on. Wrote to Darin a few times, (no responce) wrote to Nick a few times (no responce) until i saw him in the members on line list. finanally got back to me......HERES THE FUNNY PART... the tornado bb comes with the vx.18 from Taiwan. So the pull start and one way should be the BIG SIZE. The one that came with the buggy is the small size (totally diffrent match) After 3 days Nick writes to me and says that there was a change and i need to get the whole set up that is made for the Japan motor. I had to buy the drill plate WITH the new one way that was the right size....
PROBLEM # 3.... After i fix the 2 problems, i get the motor started...not even 5 min on, i see some black shreded plastic under the buggy, its the 42t spur gear...
I understand that alot of members is underage so i wont express my feelings... BUT i will tell this to the owner and partners of redcat this... I DONT LIKE TO SEE MY SON WITH A FROWN ON HIS FACE WITH HIS CHRISTMAS GIFT and im pretty sure if you was in my shoes...YOU WILL FEEL THE SAME.
SO NOW TO END THIS ON THE KIND SIDE.. WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR ME......(please dont reply with send in parts)
ALL THE BEST

I am sorry to hear about the issues you have been having with your Redcat. Can I ask what the original servo was doing; no movement, broken gear, slow response ect?? As far as the spur gear goes I would assume that the gear mesh was off and caused the gear to strip. All you can do is work through the issues one by one, you have the servo taken care of now you just need a new spur and to set the gear mesh correctly. I hope they will take care of you and get you up and running soon.
Good luck,

Just shot you a PM reply.
Please shoot me an email with who you bought it from and we will get on it when we are operational again after the move.
We are all working as hard as we can at the moment so that we can get the move finished.
Thanks for your patience.

jmen Redcat will take care of you. I have been with them since they started. If they were not a decent company I wouldn't not still be with them. I have a hobby store in florida. There are plenty of other places to get a brand similiar to redcat, but I dont feel there is another company as good as them.
Feel free to give me a call or drop me an email if there is something that I can help with.

it no problem bro, it would be nice to see you, my life has been a little crazy lately as you know. It would be a welcome distraction. I have the gears and an extra trans i think too.
